An ambitious 20th
century score, including works by Stravinsky, Penderecki, Faure and Borodin,
played by the Canberra Youth Orchestra set the atmosphere for this ritual
exploration of Dante’s great work.
In keeping with the hellish theme, a freak wind destroyed the set on the
morning of the event. After a massive all-day effort of rebuilding, the wind rose up again in the evening, causing the
performance to be postponed until the following day. The drama - off stage and on
- was recorded by the ABC’s Australian Story team who were filming a piece on
Neil Cameron and his work.
