Held in March 2001 and almost a year in the making, the "River of Light" parade in Brisbane was Queensland's major event for the nation's centenary year. Huge lanterns, fire and music on historic river craft, private boats and barges representing the people of Queensland processed along the Brisbane River from Brett's Wharf to West End.
